Literature

As generations pass, the literature of their time allows us to connect with the lives of the past to maintain and advance culture. Literature serves as an incredibly significant part of any culture, but the culture of Ukraine especially. As a culture that has been oppressed and fought for recognition, the literature created by Ukrainians serves to express events in a factual sense but also the effects of it on the collective as well as the culture. Literature preserves the experiences of the past and expresses those of the present, and in Toronto there are many resources available which provide books, poems, newspapers, and novels encapsulating Ukrainian history and community.
